The CiC Foundation opened their latest Lion’s Den Room at Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai in New York City on September 13, 2012. The room features 3 computer stations, 3 Xbox gaming stations, and a large screen TV to watch movies.
Funding for the room was provided by the Sohn Conference Foundation as a result of proceeds from their annual financial conference in New York. Doug Hirsch, managing partner of Seneca Capital and a founder of the foundation was on hand for the unveil.
He said, “we are thrilled to bring this Lion’s Den to the hospital because we have seen firsthand how Lion’s Dens bring joy to children being treated for cancer – all these children deserve a place of their own to play and connect with their friends and family.”
Accepting the donation on behalf of the hospital was Dr. Lisa Satlin, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. “This space will serve as a welcome respite for our pediatric patients from the stress of hospitalization and illness, and specifically allow them to interact electronically with family, friends, teachers and classmates.
